WHEREAS, there is a need for the installation of a single-ply roofing system over the existing metal roofing system at the Division of Transportation Building "D"; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called the Roof Replacement at the Division of Transportation Building "D"; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, an Invitation to Bid was extended to 32 vendors; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from six nonlocal vendors and opened at the Central Permit Facility, Libertyville, Illinois, on April 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, based on the criteria set forth in the Invitation to Bid, staff evaluated the bid submittals and determined that the bid submitted by H.C. Anderson Roofing Co., Rockton, Illinois in the amount of $137,012, is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder that best meets the needs of the County.
