Resolution providing for the reappointment of Deborah Balma, Andrea Hess, and Helen Hammond Redding as members of the Ethics Commission of Lake County.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, on April 13, 2021, the Lake County Board amended the Ethics & Conduct Code which resulted in the creation of a new Ethics Commission of Lake County; and
WHEREAS, per the Ethics & Conduct Code, the Commission shall be made up of five (5) members appointed by the Ethics & Oversight Committee with the advice and consent of the Lake County Board; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Ethics & Conduct Code, the first appointees to the Commission shall have staggered terms with three appointees with two-year terms, two appointees with three-year terms, and all subsequent terms shall be three-year; and
WHEREAS, on January 17, 2023 this County Board amended the Lake County Ethics & Oversight Code to transfer Code responsibilities and authorities from the dissolved Ethics & Oversight Committee to the Financial & Administrative Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Financial & Administrative Committee requests that Deborah Balma, Andrea Hess, and Helen Hammond Redding be reappointed to the Ethics Commission of Lake County for one additional term.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, the reappointment of Deborah Balma, Andrew Hess, and Helen Hammond Redding as members of the Ethics Commission of Lake County for a term of three-years beginning immediately.
