RE: Recommendation to Upgrade a Part-Time Position to Full-Time
Your favorable consideration is requested to approve an additional full-time Juvenile Detention Officer position in the Circuit Court's Office.
Juvenile Detention Officer, pay grade 8/$33,970-$47,900
The Juvenile Detention Center has 1.5 positions that have been unfunded since October of 2008. An additional part-time Juvenile Detention Officer position has been vacant for approximately four 4 months. The current staffing levels have made it difficult to approve and schedule leaves so that adequate coverage can be provided to respond to the workload. A full-time position is needed to address the workload and provide comprehensive customer service.
This change will not result in an increase in expenditure for 2011 (due to the savings realized as a result of the part-time vacancy and the delayed hiring of the recommended position).
The department will be able to fund the increase in expenditure through their departmental budget.
