Resolution authorizing an emergency appropriation in the FY 2008 budget in the Finance & Administrative Services Department for certain postage related revenues and expenses.
Staff Summary
• Subsequent to the FY2008 budget being approved, the Support Services Division of the Finance & Administrative Services Department agreed to provide postage and mailing services to the Health Department which it had not provided for previously.
• This was done in order to consolidate services, provide economies of scale, and to reduce costs.
• In order to provide adequate budget within the Support Services Division, an emergency appropriation is now needed with offsetting revenues from transfers from the Health Department.
Body
WHEREAS, the Support Services Division of the Finance & Administrative Services Department provides and funds postage and mailing services for certain departments of the County; and
WHEREAS, until recently the Health Department provided for its postage and mailing services in and by itself; and,
WHEREAS, in an effort to consolidate services and reduce expenses county-wide, the Support Services Division has agreed to provide postage and mailing services for the Health Department; and,
WHEREAS, the Health Department has agreed to reimburse the Support Services division for its costs from its postage and mailing budget; and,
WHEREAS, since this agreement was made subsequent to the County Board approving the FY2008 budget an emergency appropriation is needed to increase the Support Services postage budget for the services provided to the Health department, with offsetting revenue through transfers from the Health Department to Support Services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation be approved as follows
