Joint resolution authorizing the execution of a contract with Civiltech Engineering Inc., Itasca, Illinois for professional services for the provision of Phase I preliminary engineering services for the extension of the Washington Street bike path from Atkinson Road to Lancer Lane at a maximum cost of services described of $194,034.76. This resolution also appropriates $215,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for this improvement and designated as Section 09-00135-11-BT.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Washington Street (County Highway 45) is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic along Washington Street is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the State of Illinois and the county as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County believe it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the existing bike path along Washington Street could be improved by extending it from Atkinson Road to Lancer Lane, with connectivity to the Village of Grayslake bike path system and to the College of Lake County and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a firm be employed to provide professional services for said bike path extension; and
