Staff Summary
· Change orders that exceed 10% of the original contract amount must be reviewed and approved by the Public Works & Transportation and the Finance & Administrative Committees.
· Recent IEPA mandated NPDES permit limits require the County to provide biological nutrient removal to limit discharge of phosphorous from the treatment plant to below 1.0 mg/L.
· This change order provides for the additional engineering services necessary to design the biological nutrient removal facilities at the Vernon Hills NCT WRF and provide a Design Basis Report for submittal to the IEPA.
· This change order increases the amount of the engineering contract by $79,600 or 131.4% from $60,550 to $140,150.
