Resolution setting the compensation for County Board Members and the Chair of the County Board.
Staff Summary
* Pursuant to State Statute, the County Board sets the compensation for elected officials no less than six months before those officials take office.
* At this time, it is necessary to set the compensation for Members of the County Board that will be elected for the years 2015 through 2018 and the Chairman of the County Board for the years 2015 and 2016.
Body
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall fix the salaries of the Members of the County Board; and
WHEREAS, the County Board may establish additional compensation for the Chair of the County Board; and
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall set the compensation for elected officials no less than six months before those officials take office; and
WHEREAS, it is now necessary to set the compensation for the Members of the County Board with four (4) year terms for the years 2015 through 2018; and
WHEREAS, it is now necessary to set the compensation for the Chair of the County Board for the years 2015 and 2016; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of your Financial and Administrative Committee that the compensation set forth below for the respective elected office holders be approved by this County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the annual salary for the County Board Members with four (4) year terms for the years 2015 through 2018, shall be as follows for the years indicated:
For the Year 2015: $ 40,945 per annum
For the Year 2016: $ 40,945 per annum
For the Year 2017: $ 41,969 per annum
For the Year 2018: $ 43,018 per annum
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the annual salary for the Chair of the County Board shall be as follows for the years indicated:
