Joint resolution authorizing the execution of an Agreement for Engineering Services with AECOM Technical Services, Inc., in the amount of $71,448 for the Des Plaines River Water Reclamation Facility Battery B Aeration Blower Replacement Project.
Staff Summary
· The County owns and operates the Des Plaines River Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) which provides wastewater treatment service to multiple municipalities in the County’s Southeast Service Area.
· The facility is a tertiary treatment plant consisting of two batteries of treatment units with a design flow of 16 MGD.
· Battery B was constructed in 1993 and included multi-stage centrifugal blower equipment to meet the aeration requirements of the facility and which two of the units are inoperable and in need of rehabilitation or replacement.
· An engineering consultant is necessary to provide engineering and construction related services associated with preparation of construction plans and specifications for this work.
· In accordance with the Quality Based Selection process the Department has determined that AECOM, Inc. is the most qualified firm to provide the professional engineering services for this project and has negotiated an Agreement for Engineering Services.
· This resolution authorizes the Purchasing Agent to execute an Agreement for Engineering Services with AECOM, Inc., Sheboygan, WI, in the amount of $71,448 for engineering and construction related services associated with the Des Plaines River WRF Battery B Aeration Blower Replacement Project.

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns and operates the Des Plaines River Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) within the Southeast Lake Facilities Planning Area; and
