SPECIAL RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Women's History Month recognizes the extraordinary achievements of women throughout history, acknowledges the obstacles they have overcome, and brings awareness to the importance women in shaping the history of our nation; and
WHEREAS, women of every race, class, and ethnic background have contributed to the growth and strength of our nation in recorded and unrecorded ways; and
WHEREAS, women have consistently demonstrated resilience and strength in overcoming the adversities and barriers placed before them because of their gender, while making sacrifices to ensure that our nation prospers; and
WHEREAS, women have led the way in establishing a more equitable and democratic society by championing basic human rights through the fight for the right to vote, and ensuring equal access and opportunity for all through the feminist movement; and
WHEREAS, women have tirelessly fought for fair pay along with equal educational and career opportunities so women in our country and throughout the world can pursue rewarding careers and reach their highest goals; and
WHEREAS, many cultural, educational, and charitable institutions have been founded by women, while contributing substantial time and money to these organizations and causes to create an impact that affects and benefits countless other women and men worldwide; and
WHEREAS, because of the numerous efforts of woman trailblazing women throughout United States history, women have made and continue to make groundbreaking contributions in every aspect of society, including science, education, law, and literature.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RECOGNIZED, that this County Board of Lake County, Illinois celebrates March 2026 as Women's History Month; and
