Staff Summary
* Lake County's current contract term with North Chicago High School District 187 for a Comprehensive Career Pathway Program is set to expire.
* The scope of the contract includes providing a stipend to students for career exploration and essential workplace readiness for the first semester of the school year to prepare high school seniors for an onsite internship in the second half of the school year.
* There is a need to continue services beyond the original contract term to serve 35 additional students.
* The contract modification will be funded by Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) PY25 Grant Funds in an amount not to exceed $137,900 and extends the current contract term to July 30, 2026.
* Pursuant to Chapter 33.082 Change Orders and Contract Modifications, this Contract Modification is germane to the original contract as signed and is in the best interest of Lake County.
* This joint committee action authorizes the Purchasing Agent to enter into Contract Modification One with North Chicago High School District 187 in an amount not to exceed $137,900, extend the current term of the agreement through June 30, 2026, and provide an option of one one-year renewal, if additional grant funds are awarded.
