Joint Resolution authorizing the Chairman of the Board to execute a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police, Lake County Lodge Number 66 and Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council, as the exclusive representative of the Peace Officer bargaining unit employees of the Lake County Sheriff's Office covering wages and benefits.

Staff Summary
· An order was issued by the Interest Arbitrator on July 2, 2008 that settled the terms of the CBA and will be effective for a four year period from December 1, 2006 through November 30, 2010.
· Wages shall be increased in the following manner:

12/1/2006 3.75%
12/1/2007 4.00%
12/1/2008 3.75%
12/1/2009 3.75%

· Employees shall receive a .25% contract extension one time lump sum bonus. This amount shall be computed after the 12/1/2006 increase is granted.
· Employees will have the same holiday schedule as other County employees with the addition of Election Day every other year.
· Plain Clothing Reimbursement shall increase from $1,000 to $1,500 annually effective 12/01/2007.
· Employees shall be given the option of carrying over three holidays to the next fiscal year; in addition to the current practice of being paid for unused holidays end of the fiscal year. Holidays carried over must be used by March 31st of the next fiscal year or lost.

WHEREAS, the Fraternal Order of Police, Lake County Lodge Number 66 and the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council has been recognized as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for certain employees of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office; and

WHEREAS, a Collective Bargaining Agreement has been negotiated with the Fraternal Order of Police, Lake County Lodge Number 66 and the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council, as the exclusive representative of the Peace Officers of the Lake County Sheriff's Office, consistent with the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act; and
