Staff Summary
· To meet County goals of energy and operational efficiencies, the County utilizes a BACnet building automation system to monitor the functionality of the equipment.
· The hardware and software maintenance agreements from the original installation of the boilers, chillers, and air handler units at the various County facilities has expired.
· To maintain the current level of service for the equipment there is a need for ongoing extended warranty of hardware and software maintenance for the building automation systems.
· Johnson Controls, Inc., Arlington Heights, IL is the manufacturer of the system and the only source that can perform the maintenance service.
· The Purchasing Agent consulted with an ad hoc review group and determined that this purchase is exempt from bidding on the basis of sole source.
· This service agreement will cost an annual amount of $61,194.
