RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) has provided a Program Year (PY) 2026 Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding notice totaling $6,864,406 to the Workforce Development Department with a grant term of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028; and
WHEREAS, the WIOA Grant includes funding for programs serving high school students, disconnected youth, unemployed and underemployed adults, dislocated workers, and incumbent workers; and
WHEREAS, the WIOA Grant funds client tuition, training wages, and employer training grants; in addition to Workforce Development and Job Center personnel and operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the WIOA PY 2026 Formula Grant is hereby approved, and an emergency appropriation in the amount of $6,864,406 in the County Fiscal Year 2026 budget is hereby authorized.
