Joint resolution authorizing the execution of an agreement for the use of Federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality funds (CMAQ) between the Transportation Management Association (TMA) of Lake Cook and Lake County to provide for the development of a taxicab connector demonstration project within the Lake-Cook Road corridor. This resolution also appropriates $80,000 of Matching Tax funds for this improvement designated as Section 09-00000-20-ES.

· The TMA of Lake Cook will identify transit markets for cab connectors service associated with the Lake Cook Road corridor.
· Lake County will be the unit of local government as required to sponsor these projects in order to utilize CMAQ funds.
· This resolution authorizes the TMA agreement and appropriates $80,000 of Matching Tax funds.
· There is no net cost to the county.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the TMA of Lake Cook is desirous of utilizing CMAQ funds to develop a taxicab connector demonstration project within the Lake Cook Road corridor; and
WHEREAS, CMAQ funds are made available only to units of local governments; and
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, by prior resolution authorized the execution of an agreement between the State of Illinois and Lake County for the use of CMAQ funds for said taxicab connector demonstration project within the Lake Cook Road corridor; and
WHEREAS, the TMA of Lake Cook and Lake County are desirous on entering into an agreement for the use of said CMAQ funds for the development of a taxicab connector demonstration project within the Lake Cook Road corridor, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
