Staff Summary
· The development and submission of the 2010 Annual Action Plan is the first year component of the five-year 2010 - 2014 Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan as recommended for approval by the Community Development Commission. Copies of the current “Draft” 2010 Annual Action Plan have been distributed.
· This joint resolution approves the application for and acceptance of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the amount of $2,562,606; the Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) Grant in the amount of $1,676,147; the Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) in the amount of $113,326; and, authorizes the County Board Chairman or her designee to execute the necessary documents.
· Upon grant award by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and acceptance by Lake County, it further authorizes emergency appropriations and/or budget modifications in the amount that the grant awards differ from the budgeted amounts, and authorizing the County Board Chairman or her designee to execute contracts with subrecipient entities for the expenditure of those funds.
· The 2010 Annual Action Plan must be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development after the County Board’s approval of March 16, 2010.
