RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lake County Division of Transportation will participate in the County’s joint procurement process for the acquisition of ice control salt for the 2026-2027 winter season; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that 16,000 tons of ice control salt will be required for the 2026-2027 winter season; and
WHEREAS, before a letting can be held, an appropriation of funds is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that there is hereby appropriated $2,000,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the acquisition of ice control salt for the 2026-2027 winter season by said joint procurement, under the applicable Illinois Highway Code, and designated as Section 27-00000-05-GM; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to transmit four certified originals of this resolution to the district office of the Illinois Department of Transportation; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval on behalf of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the “Agreement of Understanding” between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated May 3, 2018.
