WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Purchasing Ordinance of Lake County, Illinois, bids were called for by publication for Sidewalk Repairs and Replacement in Waukegan for Lake County; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations for bids were extended to seventeen (17) vendors; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from five (5) vendors and opened in the County Building, Waukegan, Illinois on Monday August 22, 2008, at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Boller Construction Co., Inc, of Waukegan, IL is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the Sidewalk Repairs and Replacement in the amount of $98,435.00, the other responsible bids received were from: Car-Min Construction Co., Inc, Waukegan, IL ,$104,230.00, M&A Cement Work, Inc., Bensenville, IL, $120,000.00Meridian Construction Co., Inc., Lake Bluff, IL, $127,206.00 and Dave’s Concrete, Round Lake, IL in the amount of $131.387.15.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that that the Purchasing Agent be authorized to enter into a contract for Sidewalk Repairs and Replacement in Waukegan for Lake County with Boller Construction, Waukegan, IL, in the amount of $ 98,435.00, charging the total cost to account #101-1103285-82020-000-000-000-11149 and requests its adoption.
