Resolution providing for the appointment of Norman Carlson to the Metra Board of Directors.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the provisions of 70 ILCS 3615/3B.04(4) provides that the Chairman of the Lake County Board shall appoint one director to the Commuter Rail Board (Metra) with the advice and consent of the Lake County Board, and the appointee shall reside in Lake County; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board Chairman hereby recommends the appointment of Norman Carlson to the Metra Board of Directors for a four year term commencing April 9, 2013 and expiring April 9, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Carlson has more than 40 years of experience in auditing and railroads; and
WHEREAS, Carlson served in various capacities with Arthur Andersen & Co., including the North American Railroad Industry head and the Worldwide Managing Partner of the Transportation Industry Practice, as well as serving as the auditor of the Chicago South Shore & South Bend railroad.
WHEREAS, Carlson has also provided audit and consulting services to regional and short line railroads throughout the United States; and
WHEREAS, Carlson is a United States Army veteran and a long-time resident of Lake Forest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lake County Board hereby certifies the appointment of Norman Carlson to the METRA Board of Directors for a term ending April 9, 2017.
