R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority granted by this Board of Lake County, the County Engineer heretofore called for sealed bids, by publication, for the resurfacing of Winchester Road (County Highway 69) beginning at US Rte. 45 and ending at Butterfield Road (County Highway 57) and designated as Section 10-00151-21-RS; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said publication calling for said bid, sealed bids were received and opened on October 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lake County Division of Transportation in Libertyville, Illinois; a tabulation of said bids being as follows:
· Peter Baker & Son Co., Lake Bluff, Illinois $525,000.00
· Curran Contracting Co., Crystal Lake, Illinois $537,152.04
· J. A. Johnson Paving Company, Arlington Heights, Illinois $693,776.10
WHEREAS, the Public Works and Transportation Committee, the County Engineer and the Purchasing Agent have examined each bid, and it appears that the lowest responsible bidder is Peter Baker & Son Co., Lake Bluff, Illinois their bid being $525,000 based on estimated quantities and unit prices; and
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, by prior resolution at its meeting of September 14, 2010, appropriated $905,000 of Matching Tax funds for the improvement of the aforesaid section.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this County Board of Lake County that a contract be awarded to said Peter Baker & Son Co., Lake Bluff, Illinois in accordance with their bid of $525,000 based on estimate...
