Staff Summary
· The Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) has executed the contract for the SMC to administer a $58,500 Severe Repetitive Loss (SRL) grant to elevate one flood prone property in unincorporated Antioch.
· FEMA’s Severe Repetitive Loss Program provides funds for mitigation projects that reduce future flood losses.
· The program is designed to minimize or eliminate the continued risk of flooding.

Body
WHEREAS, Lake County Stormwater Management Commission (SMC) is undertaking a voluntary flood prone property elevation project through the 2008 Severe Repetitive Loss (SRL) Grant to elevate one (1) repetitively flood prone property in unincorporated Antioch, Lake County; and

WHEREAS, the Stormwater Management Commission has entered into an agreement with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) to manage the entire grant project, through structural elevation and property restoration; and

WHEREAS, the SMC has entered into an agreement with IEMA to receive $58,500 from the SRL Grant Program and will also reimburse the property owner up to this amount and this amount is not included in the current year budget.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $58,500 in the Stormwater Management Commission budget is hereby authorized in expense budget account 212-4208090-45400-000-000-000-42021 for the Severe Repetitive Loss Grant; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $58,500 in the Stormwater Management Commission budget is hereby authorized in Revenue budge...
