Joint resolution authorizing the execution of an Agreement for Professional Services with Rezek, Henry, Meisenheimer and Gende, Inc., (RHMG) in the amount of $60,930 for construction related services associated with the Northeast Central Pump Station Second Force Main Project.
Staff Summary
· A second sanitary sewer force main is being constructed to increase the pumping capacity of the Northeast Central Pump Station that provides service for the Villages of Hainesville, Grayslake, and Third Lake.
· The award for construction of this second force main was authorized by County Board action on October 13, 2009 to R.A. Mancini Inc., in the amount of $855,677.
· Construction related services are required for specialized field inspection and engineering services during a six (6) month construction period and an engineering agreement has been negotiated with RHMG for this work.
· Construction activities are scheduled to begin in January 2010 and be completed by July 2010.
· RHMG was the engineering firm that provided design and drawing preparation for construction bid documents, and the County has had a prior satisfactory relationship for professional services with RHMG.
· This resolution authorizes and directs the Purchasing Agent to execute an Agreement for Professional Services with Rezek, Henry, Meisenheimer & Gende, Inc., Mundelein, IL, in the amount of $60,930 for engineering services associated with the Northeast Central Pump Station Second Force Main Project.

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains sanitary sewer systems serving the Northeast Central Lake Facilities Planning Area; and

WHEREAS, a second forcemain is necessary to serve the proposed development in the Village of Grayslake associated with the Central Range Project; and
