Joint resolution authorizing an emergency appropriation in Fund 220 Tuberculosis Clinic Fund (“TB Clinic Fund”) to fund personnel expenses of the Fiscal Year 2024 budget in the amount of $74,226.75 from the Fund 220 fund balance.
Staff Summary
• Lake County has incurred and will incur expenses for wages, salaries and benefits that exceed the amount approved in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 budget.
• When developing the FY 2024 Budget, vacancy adjustments were factored in at less than fully staffing for the FY 2024 budget; however, this property tax operating fund is fully staffed.
• There are sufficient reserves in the fund to cover this emergency appropriation and should this additional appropriation not be fully utilized, it will fall back into the TB Clinic Fund balance at the end of FY 2024.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lake County has incurred and will incur expenses for wages, salaries and benefits that exceed the amount approved in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 budget; and
WHEREAS, Fund 220 TB Clinic has sufficient reserves in fund balance to cover these expenses; and
WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation is necessary to provide sufficient funding to fund salaries, wages and benefits for the FY 2024 budget; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation from fund balance from the TB Clinic Fund in the amount of $74,226.75 to the following account numbers, $49,777.14 (Salaries and Wages 220-4028010-51110), $14,034.38 (Permanent PT Salaries and Wages 220-4028010-51120), $3,921.47 (Health-Life-Dental Employee Benefits 220-4028010-74080), $3,934.89 (FICA 220-4028010-74100), and $2,558.87 (IMRF 220-4028010-74110), and is hereby authorized.
