ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the County Board of Lake County, Illinois, at its meeting on February 9, 1993, adopted an ordinance to establish a program that allows private citizens to support the Lake County Division of Transportation's anti-litter efforts, by allowing groups to adopt a section of County Highway for the purpose of litter collection and has revised it from time to time; and
WHEREAS, the County Board of Lake County, Illinois, finds it appropriate to refine and modernize the ordinance language to reflect current operational practices and program administration; and
WHEREAS, the County Board of Lake County, Illinois, finds it beneficial to formally incorporate the Adopt-A-Path program into the ordinance and to modify the program enrollment process to improve participation and administrative clarity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Lake County Adopt-A-Highway Ordinance attached hereto be adopted and be made effective upon passage, in accordance with Public Act 87-1118, Illinois Compiled Statutes, Chapter 605, Act 120.
