Staff Summary
* The County currently owns and operates Johnson Controls fire alarm and sprinkler systems at multiple Lake County facilities.
* The service and maintenance contracts for the fire alarm and sprinkler systems have expired. There is a need for ongoing routine service intervals and local fire-code authority testing of the fire alarm and sprinkler system to maintain the current level of service and code compliance for the equipment.
* Facilities and Construction Services identified a cooperative purchasing contract with Johnson Controls through Sourcewell (Agreement #121024) to continue to procure fire alarm service testing and preventative maintenance for the equipment by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) that was competitively solicited and awarded.
* Pursuant to Section 33.115 of the County's Purchasing Ordinance, Cooperative Purchasing, the County may participate in a cooperative purchasing agreement with Johnson Controls, which will be effective immediately, and allows for annual renewals through March 30, 2031, for the procurement of fire protection equipment and related services in accordance with the approved hourly rates and equipment costs for future needs as budgeted.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Lake County currently owns and operates Johnson Controls fire alarm and sprinkler Systems at multiple Lake County facilities; and
