Staff Summary
• This is a pilot program, subject to funding, beginning with the State Fiscal Year of July 1, 2021.
• This agreement covers two Principal Public Defenders who are appointed as the Guardian Ad Litem in DCFS abuse/neglect/dependency cases.
• Approximately 25 percent of the attorney’s salary and benefits will be reimbursed to the County.

RESOLUTION
WHERAS, this is a pilot program, subject to funding, beginning with the State Fiscal Year of July 1, 2021.
WHERAS, this agreement covers two Principal Public Defenders who are appointed as the Guardian Ad Litem in DCFS abuse/neglect/dependency cases.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Public Defenders Office is authorized to accept the agreement between the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and the Illinois County of Lake.
