Special recognition of Ieva Donev's Certification as Master Code Professional by the International Code Council.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Ieva has served Lake County government with distinction since 2015 in various roles including Senior Commercial Plan Reviewer, Assistant Building Official and most recently Building Official; and
WHEREAS, as Building Official, Ieva is responsible for administering and ensuring compliance with the County's locally adopted building codes for unincorporated Lake County in addition to all State and Federal building-related regulations for unincorporated areas; and
WHEREAS, Ieva is also responsible for managing a team of building professionals engaged in carrying out the provisions of these codes and regulations; and
WHEREAS, Ieva has built a solid record of leadership in her various roles, including making solar permitting improvements that led to the County being awarded the Solsmart Gold by the U.S. Department of Energy, managing the Department's fleet program and coordinating operating relationships with the County's Intergovernmental Agreement partners and fire protection district counterparts; and
WHEREAS, in pursuit of her professional development at Lake County, Ieva has achieved significant success in obtaining building code-related certifications; and
WHEREAS, the International Code Council (ICC), the international certifying agency for building code professionals, awards its highest level of ICC certification, "Master Code Professional", to those few code professionals that have met the most stringent certification requirements, the totality of which demonstrates a commitment to the profession, diverse knowledge of codes and a high level of self-initiative; and
WHEREAS, in the culmination of her education, prior certifications, and demonstrated superior code knowledge and in recognition of her high achievement in the profession, Ieva has been awarded the distinction of "Master Code Professional" ...
