Presentation and review of 2011 Summer Youth Employment Program eligibility modifications
Staff Summary
• An Ad Hoc Group was established by the Youth Council Chairwoman to discuss possible modifications for the upcoming Summer Youth Employment Program.
• Following discussion, the Ad Hoc Group developed four (4) recommendations for consideration, two (2) of which entail changes to the existing program.
• The changes include: (1) expanding eligibility to include 14 to 18 year olds; and (2) instituting a lottery system for the development of the eligibility list.
• Workforce staff will be present to provide a brief summary of the modifications as approved by the Youth Council and Executive Committee.
