Staff Summary
• The Access Control Policy establishes requirements for managing user access to Lake County’s IT Resources to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, protect sensitive information, and support the County’s commitments to data security and regulatory compliance.
• Enterprise IT developed the policy in collaboration with County stakeholders to ensure alignment and adherence to cybersecurity best practices.
• This policy was developed using County Policy 1.1: Policy Making Framework, ensuring all County departments and stakeholders had opportunity to review and provide comment.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Access Control Policy establishes requirements for managing user access to Lake County’s IT Resources to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, protect sensitive information, and support the County’s commitments to data security and regulatory compliance; and
WHEREAS, staff, in conjunction with a consultant, developed the policy ensuring alignment with best practices and County operations; and
WHEREAS, this policy was developed using County Policy 1.1: Policy Making Framework, ensuring all County departments and stakeholders had opportunity to review and provide comment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the attached Policy document is hereby adopted and shall take effect immediately.
