WHEREAS, the Illinois State Board of Education recently announced the availability of federal funding to purchase equipment for facilities that participate in the National School Lunch Program; and
WHEREAS, the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit’s Hulse Detention Center qualified for this funding; and
WHEREAS, the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit has received a $5,082.35 National School Lunch Program Equipment Assistance Grant; and
WHEREAS, no matching funds are required for this grant; and
WHEREAS, the funding will be used to purchase a milk cooler, a refrigerator, and refrigerator shelving; and
WHEREAS, the County Board must authorize an emergency appropriation of $5,082.35 to accept this grant and spend the funds prior to the August deadline.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation of $5,082.35 is authorized for a National School Lunch Program Equipment Assistance Grant # 34-049-012P-00 awarded to the 19th Judicial Circuit for the period May 24, 2010 through August 31, 2010; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the emergency appropriation shall be in the miscellaneous equipment line item 216-3240010-84100 with offsetting revenue in the amount of $5,082.35 authorized in line item 216-3240010-45340.
