Staff Summary

·      Lake County owns the water tower located at 37389 N. Grandwood Drive, Gurnee, IL.

·      Lake County desires to enter into a three (3) year Lease Agreement with New Cingular Wireless PCS for space on the water tower.

·      New Cingular (AT&T) desires to place telecommunications equipment on the water tower to provide wireless phone and data services to its customers.

·      A lease agreement has been prepared which sets forth the terms and conditions of the lease. The standard lease terms include a $30,000 annual lease with a 3% annual increase.

Body

WHEREAS, the County owns the Water Tower located at 37389 N Grandwood Drive, Gurnee, IL; and

WHEREAS, there is currently surplus space available on the Water Tower; and

WHEREAS, a Lease Agreement has been prepared which sets forth the terms and conditions of placing the telecommunications equipment on the Tower; and

WHEREAS, execution of a Lease Agreement must be authorized by Resolution of this County Board.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent negotiate and the Chair of the County Board be authorized to execute a three (3) year Lease Agreement with a three (3) year renewal option with New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC, of Alpharetta, GA for the placement of telecommunications equipment at the Water Tower located in Gurnee, IL and requests its adoption.
