Joint resolution authorizing execution of an Agreement for Engineering Services with Farnsworth Group, Inc., Bloomington, IL, in the amount of $125,850 for engineering and construction related services associated with the 2010 SCADA Improvements Project.
Staff Summary
· The Public Works Department operates over 140 remote water and sanitary sewer facilities across the County with varying levels of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
· In 2009 the Public Works Department contracted with Baxter and Woodman Control Systems Integration and produced the Lake County Public Works SCADA System Master Plan which took an inventory of our current SCADA systems and laid out various improvements and how best to implement them.
· This year’s project targets approximately 60 facilities within our Northeast and South Central regions for SCADA upgrades at the sites as well as telemetry installations to establish both better communication within the regions and ultimately monitoring capability at the Public Works Department’s Administration Building in Libertyville as a proposed central hub.
· Farnsworth Group, Inc. was selected by the Public Works Department as the design engineer for the project using procedures outlined in the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act.
· This resolution authorizes execution of an Agreement for Engineering Services with Farnsworth Group, Inc., Bloomington, IL, in the amount of $125,850 for engineering and construction related services associated with the 2010 SCADA Improvements Project, charging the cost thereof to Accounts No. 610-4833098-71170-48310, No. 610-4833198-71170-48310, No. 610-4843598-71170-48310, and No. 610-4843698-71170-48310.
