* These improvements are identified on the County's 2040 Non-Motorized Plan and are a priority gap in the path network.
* The County Board, at its July 9, 2024, meeting, appropriated $65,000 for right-of-way costs, which is based on independent appraisals prepared for each property.
* A supplemental appropriation is needed to acquire the necessary right-of-way to construct the improvements.
* This project is included in the Transportation Improvement Program with construction planned for 2026 and designated as Section 21-00137-19-BT.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Butterfield Road, County Highway 57, is a designated route on the county highway system; and

WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the traveling public if Butterfield Road, from Gregg's Parkway to Golf Road, could be improved inclusive of non-motorized facilities; and

WHEREAS, the County Board of Lake County, Illinois, at its July 9, 2024, meeting, appropriated $65,000 of 1/4% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for the acquisition of right-of-way necessary to construct the improvements; and

WHEREAS, the original appropriation was based upon independent property appraisals and reports prepared for each impacted property; and

WHEREAS, based on actual settlement amounts, a supplemental appropriation of funds is required to acquire the remaining properties.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that there is hereby appropriated a supplemental amount of $30,000 of 1/4% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for right-of-way costs associated with the non-motorized improvements ...
