Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) received grant funding through the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS), Regional Substance Use Prevention Integration Center program (RSUPIC) in the amount of $575,397. The period of performance is July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. The amount requested to be appropriated in LCFY24 is $239,749. The difference has been accounted for in the LCFY25 budget. The purpose of the funding is to reduce alcohol, marijuana, and other drug use among youth aged 12-18 and emerging adults aged 18-25, while also addressing the non-medical use of prescription drugs across these age groups. This will continue to fund supplies, trips and trainings, indirect expenses, contractual services, four Community Health Specialists, offset existing staff salary and fringe benefits.

 

Suggested Motion

To approve the Illinois Department of Human Services, Regional Substance Use Prevention Integration Center grant funding of $575,397 and emergency appropriate $239,749 for LCFY24.
