* LCDOT has multiple maintenance building/garage structures that were built more than 50 years ago and are beyond their useful life along with large roadway maintenance equipment that is not able to be stored indoors and out of the elements.
* Lake County selects professional architectural firms in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.
* The LCDOT's Consultant Selection Process has been approved by the Federal Highway Administration and the Illinois Department of Transportation, and the firm selected for this project was selected in accordance with this approved process.
* LCDOT received and evaluated Statements of Interest and Qualifications from 10 professional firms, of which three were short-listed and presented to a consultant selection committee.
* This project is included in the Transportation Improvement Program and designated as Section 24-00214-29-MG.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Lake County desires to perform a feasibility study and space needs assessment of the maintenance facilities at the Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT); and

WHEREAS, it is necessary for the LCDOT to replace and update to a new maintenance and fleet services facility, including additional space for larger roadway maintenance equipment; and

WHEREAS, professional architectural services are required for these improvements; and

WHEREAS, it is recommended that a consultant architectural firm be employed to provide these professional architectural services; and
