Joint resolution authorizing the execution of a six month (January 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012) emergency contract with Select Rehabilitation, in the amount of $228,000, to provide rehabilitation services at Winchester House.
Staff Summary
· Winchester House entered into a rehabilitation services contract with Peoplefirst Rehabilitation in August of 2006.
· This agreement expires December 31, 2011 and Peoplefirst has opted not to extend the contract.
· A disruption in these services would jeopardize the welfare and safety of Winchester House residents; therefore, the Administrator of Winchester House has declared an emergency and has engaged Select Rehabilitation to provide these services.
Body
WHEREAS, Kindred Rehab Services, Inc. (d/b/a Peoplefirst Rehabilitation)has been providing physical, speech and occupational therapy to the residents of Winchester House since August 11 of 2006 but has declined to continue past December 31, 2011; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Purchasing Ordinance the Administrator of Winchester House, has declared an emergency because a disruption in these services would cause a threat to welfare and safety of Winchester House residents; and
WHEREAS, Select Rehabilitation of Northbrook Illinois has agreed to a six month contract in the approximate amount of $228,000; and
WHEREAS, the emergency contract must be approved by the County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that a six month emergency contract with Select Rehabilitation in the approximate amount of $228,000 is hereby approved.
