Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center received funding through the Illinois Department of Public Health, Comprehensive Health Protection Grant, Opioid Overdose Prevention grant in the amount of $15,000. The period of performance is from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. The purpose of the funding is to distribute naloxone to reverse opioid overdoses, distribute fentanyl and xylazine test strips and provide training on overdose prevention and naloxone use. This will fund training and offset one existing staff salary and fringe benefits.

To approve the Illinois Department of Public Health, Comprehensive Health Protection, Opioid Overdose Prevention grant funding and emergency appropriate $15,000 for FY24.
