Staff Summary
· Lake County has been awarded federal Homeland Security funding by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and the Illinois Terrorism Task Force, through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Interoperable Emergency Communications Grant Program (IECGP) to improve the current status of interoperable communications in the area.
· There is a need for consulting services to develop and facilitate the implementation of a unified comprehensive Tactical Interoperable Communications Plan (TICP).
· Request for Proposals were extended to (9) nine proposers and (5) five proposals were received.
· An evaluation committee with representation from the Lake County Emergency Management Agency, Lake County Radio department, Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Lake County Interoperable Communications Council reviewed, evaluated and ranked all proposals.
· The evaluation committee determined that the proposal submitted by Lafayette Group, Vienna VA, IL in the amount of $70,000 is the most favorable proposal.
· The cost will be charged to account number 101-1101040-79940-000-000-000-11400.
