Report concerning proposed landscape waste burning restrictions.
Staff Summary
• On January 25, 2011, the Planning, Building and Zoning (PBZ) and Health and Community Service (HCS) Committees directed staff to develop proposed landscape waste burning restrictions that could be utilized to address open burning concerns in the vicinity of Stevenson High School.
• Staff presented a proposal for landscape waste burning restrictions at the April 5, PBZ and HCS Committees and was directed to solicit public input on the proposed regulations.
• Residents were notified of the proposed regulations and were afforded the opportunity to attend a public informational meeting on May 9, and submit comments until May 20.
• Staff will provide a summary of the comments received, all of which are attached, and recommended modifications to the landscape waste burning restrictions.
