WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has provided a grant as part of the Statewide Summer Youth Employment Program to the Lake County Workforce Development Department in the amount of $359,142; and
WHEREAS, the grant is for the period of June 1, 2010 to September 30, 2010, for a summer youth employment program; and
WHEREAS, this funding is expected to provide summer employment for youth ages 16-24 at worksites throughout the County and will serve approximately 75 youth; and
WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation in the amount of $359,142 is requested to be approved to allocate these funds into the Workforce Department’s budget and authorize acceptance of this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $359,142 for the Workforce Development Department is hereby approved and that the Statewide Summer Youth Employment Grant is hereby accepted. A chart of accounts is attached.
