Title

Emergency Appropriation of $9,516 for fiscal year 2026, accepting additional grant funding from the Illinois Behavioral Health Workforce Center at the University of Illinois Chicago Solution Focused Brief Therapy Training and Implementation Initiative grant - Esser

Body

The Health Department received $9,516 in additional grant funding for the period of June 25, 2026, through June 30, 2026, which has not been previously appropriated because the grant resources were approved after the County’s adoption of the Fiscal Year 2026 budget. Six Behavioral Health staff attended a two-day Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Basics Training on June 25 and 26, 2026. The training provided staff with strengths-based techniques for helping clients identify solutions by building on their existing abilities, resources, and desired outcomes. Grant funds will be budgeted within the Behavioral Health Management Center program to offset staff costs associated with the training. The grant will be administered in accordance with the terms and conditions of the award.

Suggested Motion

To approve the additional grant funds from the Illinois Behavioral Health Workforce Center at the University of Illinois Chicago for the Solution Focused Brief Therapy Training and Implementation Initiative, and emergency appropriate $9,516 for Fiscal Year 2026.
