Joint committee action approving Change Order No. 6 for the Diamond Lake Acorn Lane Lift Station Improvements Project.
Staff Summary
· Change orders that exceed 10 percent of the original contract amount must be reviewed and approved by the Public Works & Transportation and Finance & Administrative Committees.
· These change orders are associated with construction work on the Diamond Lake Lift Station Improvements Project performed by Joseph J. Henderson & Sons, Inc.
· Part of this project required installation of a new wet well liner at the Acorn Lane Lift Station.
· After the wet well was taken out of service, it was determined that the structure had significant infiltration and concrete damage that was not visible during design and bidding.
· A completely different liner system is now required to address these issues, adding cost to the project in the amount of $63,888.49 under Change Order No. 6.
· Under previously approved change orders, radio telemetry towers were added to the project to provide more reliable data transfer than provided by telephone lines, and piping changes were required to address actual field conditions.
· Change Order No. 6, along with previously approved Change Orders Nos. 1-5 increases the amount of the original contract by $140,394.79 or 18 percent from $769,000 to $909,394.79.
