Staff Summary
· At the August 12, 2008 Board meeting, the County Board approved a bid award with Oce Business Services, Chicago, IL to lease a high volume printer in the estimated five-year cost of $628,147.
· Subsequent to this award, further staff analysis determined that Lake County can purchase the equipment on an outright basis at a savings of $47,525 over a five (5) year period.
· This resolution will authorize the Purchasing Agent to amend the existing resolution and contract from a lease to an outright purchase.
· This service will cost $580,622, charging $308,842 to account #101-1103355-84060-000-000-000-11304 and $271,780 to account#101-1210020-7253-0000-000-000-00000.
Body
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance bids were called for by publication for a High Volume Printer for Lake County; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations for bids were extended to the twenty (20) service providers; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from three (3) vendors and opened in the County Building, Waukegan, Illinois on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Oce Business Services, Chicago, IL is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the High Volume Printer in the amount of $628,147.00 for a five year period, another responsible bid was received from: Xerox Municipal Lease, Chicago, IL $714,547.80; and
WHEREAS, one non-responsive bid was received from Gordon Flesch Co., Geneva, IL $650,088.00; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board approved this award at their regular meeting on August 12, 2008; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to this award, further staff analysis determined that Lake County can purchase the equipment outright...
