Special recognition of Peter Schoenfeld for his contributions and dedication as a member of the Illinois Geographic Information Systems Association (ILGISA).

SPECIAL RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, the Illinois Geographic Information Systems Association (ILGISA) is the only statewide organization of geospatial professionals in Illinois. The ILGISA, is a not-for-profit professional association that advances the understanding, effectiveness, and communication of geospatial technology in Illinois since 1994; and
WHEREAS, Peter has consistently been an active member of ILGISA through presenting and committee work. Most recently, Peter played an integral part in the migration of the State of Illinois 911 system to the Next Gen 911 model. The Next Gen 911 model is aimed at updating the 9-1-1 service infrastructure to enable the public to transmit text, video, images, and data to a 9-1-1 center; and
WHEREAS, Peter volunteered a tremendous amount of personal time to design, develop, and test the Next Gen 911 system. The project’s progress is due to Peter’s massive contributions and selfless devotion.
WHEREAS, the ILGISA recognizes members whose service and dedication supports and promotes the use of GIS to problem solving throughout Illinois and beyond. The ILGISA has awarded Peter the 2022 Hilton Distinguished Collaboration Award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RECOGNIZED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Peter Schoenfield be applauded for his contributions and dedication to Illinois Geographic Information Systems Association and for receiving the 2022 Hilton Distinguished Collaboration Award.
