Staff Summary
· This $250,000 grant is from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity ‘Ike Planning and Technical Assistance’ and will fund a ‘Watershed and Flood Mitigation Plan’ for the Mill Creek Watershed.
· SMC will be reimbursed for project management and technical services.
· Project coordination will include the municipalities of Grayslake, Gurnee, Libertyville, Lindenhurst, Old Mill Creek, Round Lake Beach, Third Lake, and Wadsworth, along with unincorporated areas of Avon, Fremont, Lake Villa, Newport, and Warren Township (including Grandwood Park).

Body
WHEREAS, Lake County Stormwater Management Commission (SMC) is undertaking a comprehensive watershed and flood mitigation planning project in the Mill Creek Watershed with financial assistance from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity IKE Planning Program Grant; and

WHEREAS, the Stormwater Management Commission, through the County, has been awarded a grant with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO); and

WHEARAS, the SMC has authorized staff time for grant management and technical services toward the cost of creating the Mill Creek Watershed and Flood Mitigation Plan; and

WHEREAS, the SMC, through the County, shall enter into an agreement with DCEO upon acceptance of the grant to receive $250,000 from the IKE Planning Program Grant and this amount is not included in the current year budget.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that acceptance of the IKE Planning and Technical Assistance Grant (#08-355019) for the Mill Creek Watershed and Flood Mitigation Plan is ...
