Staff Summary
· As part of the County’s long-term infrastructure improvements program, the Maple Avenue and Acorn Lane Lift Stations require refurbishment.
· This project will include expansion of the Acorn Lane and Maple Avenue Lift Stations with new pumps, controls and wet wells.
· The County received requests for bid documents from sixteen contractors and received responsive bids from six contractors for this work.
· Award of this contract is recommended to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Joseph J. Henderson & Son, Inc., Gurnee, Illinois in the amount of $769,000.
· This resolution authorizes the execution of a contract with Joseph J. Henderson & Son, Inc. in the amount of $769,000 for the Improvements for Diamond Lake Lift Stations.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains sanitary sewer systems, including a Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) within the Southeast Central Lake Facility Planning Area; and

WHEREAS, the County’s long-term infrastructure improvements program requires refurbishment of the Acorn Lane and Maple Avenue Lift Stations; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the Improvements for Diamond Lake Lift Stations; and

WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, the County received requests for bid documents for this work from sixteen (16) contractors; and

WHEREAS, six (6) sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the office of the Public Works Department on Thursday, November 1, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., and

WHEREAS, Joseph J. Henderson & Son, Inc. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $769,000; five (5) other bids were received, ranging from $850,000 to $1,169,000...
