· Lake County was awarded $691,361 in CDBG-R funds as part of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The application for these funds was submitted on June 5.
· This funding will go to expand infrastructure projects throughout Lake County.
· This resolution authorizes the Chair of the County Board to: 1) execute the necessary documents to accept the CDBG-R award; 2) authorize an emergency appropriation in the amount of $691,361; and 3) execute contracts with subrecipient entities for the expenditure of these funds.
Body
WHEREAS, HUD made available $1 billion through formula grants for community development activities through the CDBG-R Program as part of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA); and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board approved a resolution on May 12, 2009 to authorize the Chairman to execute the necessary documents to submit a substantial amendment to the 2008 Annual Action Plan in order to receive CDBG-R funds; and,
WHEREAS, Lake County anticipates receiving an award of $691,361 from HUD; and,
WHEREAS, these funds were designated in the substantial amendment to assist in public infrastructure improvements for selected Lake County municipalities and townships.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the County Board Chair or her designee is hereby authorized to execute upon grant award the necessary documents to accept the CDBG-R funds in the amount of $691,361; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon grant award and acceptance by the County Board, an emergency appropriation is hereby authorized in the amount of $691,361 in fund 740-2970020-79950-000-000-000-000-29720 and corresponding revenue amount of $...
