RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) has awarded the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Rapid Response Grant in the amount of $440,000, with a grant term of April 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the WIOA Rapid Response Grant is to serve workers impacted by lay-offs, plant closings and other dislocation events and pay tuition, training wages, and supportive services; and
WHEREAS, the Grant will support 125 residents enrolled in the Digital Skills Bootcamp.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $440,000 for the Workforce Development Department is hereby approved and that the WIOA Rapid Response Grant is hereby accepted.
