RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, maintains more than 50 bridges, approximately 300 centerline miles of designated County highways, and more than 60 miles of bike facilities on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, general maintenance materials and services may include, but not be limited to, pavements, shoulders, guardrails, fencing, signage, and right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, additional ditching projects and tree removal projects were not anticipated at the time of the original appropriation; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board at its November 15, 2022 meeting approved an appropriation of $35,000 of County Bridge Tax funds and $174,000 of Matching Tax funds; and
WHEREAS, a supplemental appropriation of $70,000 is required to complete the 2023 contract period.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that there is hereby appropriated a supplemental amount of $70,000 of Matching Tax funds for purchase of materials and services to maintain the county highway system and designated as Section 23-00000-03-GM.
