· On April 8, 2003 the County Board approved the purchase of the Motorola Premier hardware, software, installation and training in the amount of $84,056 with Motorola, Inc., Westminster, CO.
· There was a need to act immediately to acquire the annual maintenance and support renewal of the Premier MDC product.
· The Purchasing Agent issued a purchase order on the basis of an emergency with service costs of $25,860 for a one (1) year period, charged to account #910-9000010-72280-000-000-000-00000.

WHEREAS, on April 8, 2003 the County Board approved the purchase of Mobile Data Computers (MDC) including Hardware, Premier Software, Installation and Training for the Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) in the amount of $84,056 with Motorola, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Motorola, Inc. is the only source that can provide the Premier software maintenance; and
WHEREAS, there was a need to act immediately to acquire the annual software maintenance and support renewal to minimize disruption of government services; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 6-103 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, the Purchasing Agent issued a purchase order; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Emergency Procurement with Motorola, Inc. for an annual Premier software maintenance and support agreement for the Mobile Data Computers for the Lake County Emergency Telephone System Board in the amount of $25,860 charged to account #910-9000010-72280-000-000-000-00000 is ratified.
