Resolution authorizing an emergency appropriation in the Recorder Automation Fund (Fund 260) to fund personnel expenses of the Fiscal Year 2025 budget in the amount of $16,500 from the Fund 260 fund balance.

 

Staff Summary

                     The County Clerk’s Office has a shortfall in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 budget in its Recorder Automation Fund due to a combination of overtime and one-time pay for those employees who are at the top of their range.

                     The current fund balance is estimated to be $1,945,688 at the end of FY 2025, so there are sufficient funds to cover this unbudgeted expense.

RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, Lake County has incurred expenses in the personnel expenditure category that exceed the amount approved in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 budget; and

 

WHEREAS, the Recorder Automation Fund has sufficient reserves in fund balance to cover these expenses; and

 

WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation is necessary to provide sufficient funding to fund wage expenses for the FY 2025 budget.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation from fund balance in the Recorder Automation Fund (Fund 260) in the amount of $16,500 is authorized as identified on the budget modification list attached hereto and made part hereof.
